Our Story

Co-Founders Nathan McCarter and Charlotte Taylor first met as student Registered Nurses at the University of Newcastle, where they quickly bonded over their shared passion for healthcare and commitment to making a difference. Their admiration for each other’s work ethic and vision led to a close partnership both personally and professionally, one so supportive that their team affectionately refers to them as the 'Mum and Dad' of the group. Through trials and tribulations of their individual careers sprouted simpatico support – a company which focuses on delivering specialised support services tailored to the unique story and experiences of each individual.

Co-Founder, Charlotte is passionate about assisting people to live purposefully and confidently in their unique identities. Charlotte believes that it is significant to shift our focus from asking 'what’s the matter with you?' to 'what matters to you?'. By adopting this focus, Charlotte cares for individuals in the context of their life and the things which are most important to them. This is the foundation of Charlotte’s passion in care coordination and psychosocial recovery coaching - to form optimistic narratives and work toward greater wellbeing.

Charlotte is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Newcastle and plans to complete further postgraduate studies. She uses trauma-informed care to underpin her therapeutic approaches, harbouring authenticity and connection.

Co-Founder, Nathan believes everyone should be empowered to fulfill a life of achieving goals and overcoming challenges and obstacles. Nathan wishes to widen the scale of his care by imparting his morals and beliefs onto a team through education and coordination. Nathan began his nursing journey later in life, believing it’s never too late or too challenging to start. Due to graduate from his Bachelor of Nursing Degree at the closing of 2024, he believes in combining his clinical knowledge with his goofy, fun-loving personality to facilitate the best carer-participant connections. Nathan believes the foundations of his relationship with co-founder Charlotte were the eventual cornerstone of ‘Simpatico’ and their combined core values and vision for Community Healthcare could significantly impact how society interprets community access, support, and the likes.

At Simpatico Support, we highlight the importance of true human connection. We believe that the human experience is filled with an intrinsic desire to 'belong' and to feel validated in your experience – whatever that may be. We consider ourselves lucky enough to provide an illustration of such meaningful connection through our own relationship as partners and co-founders of Simpatico Support.
